Character Development for Animation and Beyond with Dian Perry Feb 2019

Our very special 'Character Development for Animation and Beyond' workshop

with Dian Perry

in London

  • Do you already have experience in Animations?
  • Or would like to work in Animations?
  • Would you like to perfect your character voices?
  • Or, have the confidence to walk into an animation casting and deliver a range of brilliant character voices?
  • Would you like to spend the weekend working on your voice acting skills in a safe environment while learning more about character voices?

GETTING INTO CHARACTER

As we all know first impressions last, and you may only get one chance to impress that casting director - so being prepared is very important! A director expects you to have a collection of versatile character voices at the ready so that when you enter the studio you can quickly and easily get into character. Working on these skills is incredibly important!

A WORKSHOP DESIGNER FOR WORKING VOICEOVER PROFESSIONALS

We are very lucky to have an Animation workshop coming up that's been exclusively designed specifically for working voiceover professionals. A workshop created for experienced voiceover artists by the incredibly talented voice actor and teacher, Dian Perry.

You will come away from this workshop inspired, invigorated, with confidence, knowledge, as well as having a new insight into working in animations.

'Dian Perry's Animation and Character Development workshop was the first VON workshop I'd ever attended - and boy did I pick a goodun! I got my first real glimpse into what I would really need to be successful in animation voice acting. I'd always loved doing "silly voices" but Dian gave me tools I could work with to develop, be flexible, explore techniques and be creative. She broke it down into such an easy to digest but eye-opening way. She was motivating and would work her ways with you so by the end of it you were doing characters you didn't think you could do! We got a chance to record our own characters plus work together with scripts. Overall, I took away an invaluable bag of tools, some great professional advice and I made a few friends at the same time! Invest in yourself and don't miss this opportunity!' - Ally Murphy, voiceover artist and member of The VoiceOver Network.

This fun and dynamic workshop will give you solid tools and techniques to create new and unique character voices for animation, games, stage and screen.

The weekend will be held at the fantastic Casual Films Studios in London.

'Do you want to know how to develop characters for Animation? Do you want to improve your performance..? I can't recommend enough this workshop, Dian is a great teacher and a wonderful voice actor with lots of experience in both performing and teaching.' Vicky Tessio, voiceover artist and member of The VoiceOver Network

Here are just a few of the topics which will be covered on this unmissable weekend:

  • Pat Fraley’s 6 elements of a character voice
  • Archetypes and why they are so important in character work
  • Creating an original character voice from an image
  • Physicality and why it’s vital to character work
  • Where to get ideas for new character voices
